Why Is Your Aadhaar PDF Password Protected?
UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) adds a password to the e-Aadhaar PDF to protect your personal information — your Aadhaar number, address, and biometric details. This is a security measure by UIDAI.
The password is always based on your date of birth — specifically the first 8 characters of your name in capital letters combined with your birth year, or in newer PDFs, your DOB in DDMMYYYY format.
The password is your date of birth in DDMMYYYY format.
Examples:
• DOB: 15 August 1998 → Password: 15081998
• DOB: 5 March 2000 → Password: 05032000
• DOB: 31 December 1990 → Password: 31121990
Note: Always use 2 digits for day and month (add leading zero if needed).

Unlock Aadhaar PDF →What If the Password Does Not Work?
If the tool shows an error, try these solutions in order:
- Check leading zeros: Is your birthday on the 5th? Use 05, not 5. Is your birth month January? Use 01, not 1.
- Check year format: Use the full 4-digit year (e.g. 1998, not 98).
- Check Aadhaar-registered DOB: Your Aadhaar DOB might differ from your actual DOB if you updated it. Check your Aadhaar DOB on the UIDAI website using your Aadhaar number.
- Try the name-based password: Older Aadhaar PDFs (downloaded before 2018) use the first 8 characters of your name in uppercase + birth year. E.g. for Rahul Kumar born in 1995: RAHULKUM1995.
